Marvara is the international party band of Belgian bagpipe player Marieke Van Ransbeeck. They perform highly energetic folk music composed by Marieke. The music reflects her experiences and memories from a breath-taking musical journey in the Nordic countries. Marieke (and her bagpipes: Flemish bagpipe, Swedish bagpipe and French musette) is accompanied by 4 musicians: cittern player Villads Hoffman (DK), bass player Frederik Mensink (DK), percussionist Mårten Hillbom (SE) and diatonic accordion player Hilke Bauweraerts (BE).
In 2021, Marvara released their debut album High On Life, which live results in an interactive show wrapped in a festive atmosphere that will tease all of your senses. Get ready to experience some powerful melodies, badass harmonies, sexy slow tunes, devilish polskas, karaoke vibes and even some pop music influences.
